Understanding Your Child and Youth's Anxiety

Are you struggling with parenting an anxious child and looking for ways to help support them? Anxiety disorders are on the rise in western culture. We will take time in this one day workshop to learn about and discuss the challenging topic of anxiety.

Topics Include:

  • Common anxiety disorders/challenges
  • Possible causes of anxiety and impacts over time
  • Impact of social media/computer use
  • Problem solving around school-related challenges
  • Managing and preventing panic attacks
  • Behavioral strategies
  • Mindfulness techniques
  • Self-esteem building.

Jacinda Scott – Group Facilitator

Jacinda has a Bachelor of Social Work and is a Registered Social Worker with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW). She is a group facilitator, advocate for teen and young parents, and a program coordinator for parent support groups in the community. As mother of two daughters, Jacinda believes in building a village around ourselves as parents to do the best job possible in raising our children. She has teacher training in YIN yoga and brings this as well as other mindfulness practices to her group work to facilitate healing from trauma and mental health struggles. Jacinda enjoys supporting clients on their journey to health and wellness, but she is also inspired by the resilience and strength of the people she serves.
