Connecting With Your Children

The Reaching Out program is a school based group for families in high risk situations.

This program includes 2 hours of interactive education and discussion for parents followed by a lunch for parents and children together, which includes a family activity. Content is delivered and modified based on group need.

  • Stress Management
  • Family Dynamics
  • Violence and Anger
  • Traditional Parenting
  • Communication

Group Facilitators

Jacinda Scott

img_0840-1Jacinda has a Bachelor of Social Work and is a Registered Social Worker with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW). She is a group facilitator, advocate for teen and young parents, and a program coordinator for parent support groups in the community. As mother of two daughters, Jacinda believes in building a village around ourselves as parents to do the best job possible in raising our children. She has teacher training in YIN yoga and brings this as well as other mindfulness practices to her group work to facilitate healing from trauma and mental health struggles. Jacinda enjoys supporting clients on their journey to health and wellness, but she is also inspired by the resilience and strength of the people she serves.

Rhonda Stimpson

img_0854Rhonda has a Diploma in Early Childhood Development, Bachelor of Social Work and is a Registered Social Worker with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW). As a Community Support Worker she facilitates parent groups in 3 inner city schools in Saskatoon. Rhonda has 15 years of experience as a social worker and 7 years of experience as a parent educator. She also provides individual parent and life support for Teen and Young Parents. Rhonda believes that it takes a village to raise a child and we all approach parenting hoping to be the best parent we can be.
