Building Healthy Families:
Post Adoption Support for Parents
CFS Saskatoon is excited to announce that we have a NEW program starting in February 2020. In partnership with The Adoption Support Centre of Saskatchewan, we will be providing a post adoption support and family preservation support group, titled “Building Healthy Families: Post Adoption Support Group”. This program is for adoptive parents anywhere on their adoptive journey, who may be experiencing adoption related issues or concerns.
Facilitator – Jenna Jarvis
After completing my Bachelor’s of Social Work Degree through the University of Regina, I knew I wanted to continue with counselling and grow roots in this field. It’s a profession where personal evolution and growth is mandatory, as well as a profession that gives me the opportunity to connect with people, to hear their stories, and to collaborate in helping you live your best life, whatever that looks like.
I believe that practicing through a trauma-informed lens is of upmost importance, where safety is foundational. My practice is informed by polyvagal theory, brain development, and somatic approaches to healing. Aside from these things, I am passionate about practicality, mindfulness, gentle movement, and creative approaches to surviving/thriving in our bodies, homes, community, and world.
Dates: Due to COVID-19 all in person groups are being held virtually.
The program will be held at the ASCS office at 527 Main Street from 6:30 to 8:30pm. The first group is on Wednesday February 12th and will run every second Wednesday from that date.
