Support and Skills for Dad's...

The Fatherhood, is open to any and all fathers in the community.  All groups offered by the Navigating Fatherhood project will incorporate educational and skill-building content and activities while also providing support to fathers as they balance their responsibilities as a parent.  Topics covered will include:

 

  • What children need to grow and thrive
  • Roles Dad’s play in children’s lives
  • Challenges fathers commonly face
  • Positive discipline skills
  • Communication with our partner or ex
  • The role of attachment in child development
  • The importance of play in a child’s development
  • How to encourage good nutrition and active lifestyles for our kids
  • The importance of self-care and healthy coping strategies

Dave Berg – Group Facilitator

Dave has a Master’s in Counselling Psycology and is a certified member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, as well as a member of the Psychology Association of Saskatchewan.  He holds Bachelor degrees in Education and Arts (history) and has spent the last nine years working in schools as a Teacher and School Counsellor.  As a father of four children, Dave believes in the importance of having a strong family system and enjoys working with people to make the changes that they are seeking.  Dave is currently facilitating the Fatherhood group at CFS Saskatoon and is encouraged and inspired by fathers that are seeking to become even better fathers to their children.

Tuesday Evenings, January 29 – March 26, 2019 (no group February 19/19)
