Get Involved With CFS Saskatoon

CFS Saskatoon helps people in our community who are experiencing a wide variety of life challenges. For 75 years we have been assisting individuals and families through counselling, family life & education and community programs.  We also work with many partners to help us to grow healthy communities. Our services are available to everyone who lives in Saskatoon and surrounding area.

  • Volunteering at one of our Early Learning Centres
  • Openings with our Board
  • Special Events

A Public Call for Board Members

CFS Saskatoon is a dynamic family service agency that has been serving the Saskatoon area for 77 years.  Grounded in the Catholic tradition of service, CFS Saskatoon builds on and supports people’s inherent strengths through professional counselling, education, and community programs, accessible to all. We are currently seeking 4-6 new Board members to join our Board of Directors at the June, 2018 Annual General Meeting.

As a new Board Member you will help to ensure we have the capacity and skills to oversee the next phase of our work.   Currently, we are looking for individuals with experience in and connected to the healthcare and education sectors as well as those with experience in strategic planning and expertise in finance.  We are also looking to foster balanced representation with the inclusion of women, those under the age of 30 and over 50, as well Indigenous people and new comers to Canada.  We are looking for both Catholic and non-Catholic members.

Board members are expected to attend six board meetings per year, as well as a seasonal social in December to celebrate with staff.  All members serve on one board committee.  Terms are 3 years with the option to renew for a second term.  The time commitment is currently 3-4 hours a month, not including orientation (3 hours in the fall) and strategic planning (anticipated to be an additional 10 hours in 2018—2019).

Please submit a letter with your contact information, some information about yourself and why you wish to be considered for a role on the Board to Leah Perrault, Chair, Board of Directors at reception@cfssaskatoon.sk.ca.  Please submit your intention by May 11th, 2018 so that applications can be reviewed at our May board meeting.
